The tabs themselves serve as an information architecture for the page, so ensure that there is a common thread that holds them together.<\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  \">\n\n<p><strong>When in doubt, avoid using tabs.<\/strong> A cardinal rule of web design is &#8220;Don\u2019t hide content&#8221; because visitors will not find it. Tabs should never exceed 7 items, and they should not be the primary means to discover information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Tabs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On sites using the Block Editor, tabs (<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/home\/sites\/7\/tabs.png\" alt=\"Tabs block editor icon\" class=\"wysiwyg-icon\">) can be added from the block library, under the Component Library section.
