{"id":2856,"date":"2026-03-12T18:53:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T18:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/wordpress\/?page_id=2856"},"modified":"2026-04-01T14:08:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T14:08:44","slug":"add-a-table","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/wordpress\/training\/add-a-table\/","title":{"rendered":"Add a Table"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; height: 0; padding-bottom: 56.25%\">\n\t<iframe src=\"https:\/\/uri.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Embed.aspx?id=db22203f-6a50-4d36-950f-b3d30145d757&#038;autoplay=false&#038;offerviewer=false&#038;showtitle=true&#038;showbrand=false&#038;captions=false&#038;interactivity=all\" style=\"border: 1px solid #464646; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; box-sizing: border-box;\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay\" title=\"How to Add A Table - WordPress Tutorial Video\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Add a Table<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Go to Your Dashboard<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> Log in to your WordPress dashboard.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open Your Page<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> From the left-hand menu, click <strong>Pages<\/strong>.<br>Hover over the page where you\u2019d like to add a table, then click <strong>Edit<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add a Table Block<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> There are two ways to add a table to your page:<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Option 1: Use the Add Block (+) Button<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the blue <strong>+<\/strong> button in the top left corner of the page editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate <strong>Table<\/strong> under the <strong>Text<\/strong> section, or type \u201ctable\u201d into the search bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Table<\/strong> to insert it into your page.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Option 2: Use the Slash Command<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click directly into the page and type a forward slash <strong>(\/)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A dropdown menu will appear with available blocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type <strong>table<\/strong> and select <strong>Table<\/strong> from the list.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set Up Your Table<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When prompted, choose the number of <strong>columns<\/strong> and <strong>rows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Create Table<\/strong> to insert it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click inside any cell to begin adding content.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add or Edit Table Content<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type text directly into each cell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the toolbar above the table to add or remove rows and columns as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong> It may be difficult to visually distinguish columns without a header row.
