Add an Image

  1. Go to Your Dashboard
    Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Open Your Page
    From the left-hand menu, click Pages.
    Hover over the page where you’d like to add an image, then click Edit.
  3. Add an Image Block
    There are two ways to add an image to your page:
    • Option 1: Use the Add Block (+) Button
      • Click the blue + button in the top left corner of the page editor.
      • Locate Image under the Media section, or type “image” into the search bar.
      • Click Image to insert the block.
    • Option 2: Use the Slash Command
      • Click directly into the page and type a forward slash (/).
      • A dropdown menu will appear with available blocks.
      • Type image and select Image from the list.
  4. Add Your Image
    • Click Upload to add a new image from your computer.
    • Click Media Library to select an existing image.
    • Click Insert from URL to use an image hosted online.
  5. Adjust Image Settings
    • Click the image to select the block.
    • Open the Settings panel by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner.
    • Select the Block tab to view image options.
  6. Optional Adjustments

    For the Image Block:
    • Alternative Text: Add a brief description of the image. This supports accessibility by providing context for users who rely on screen readers.
    • Aspect Ratio: Defaults to Original, which preserves the image’s natural proportions.
    • Width and Height: These fields are left blank by default but can be adjusted if specific sizing is required.
  7. Save Your Changes
    When you’re finished, click the Save button in the top right corner of the screen.
