KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 April 17, 2023 \u2013 The 溏心vlog免费B站 will welcome author and journalist Kate Fagan<\/a> to the Kingston Campus Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place in Edwards Hall, 64 Upper College Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fagan is a noted speaker on issues of sports and mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her free talk is hosted by 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Student Entertainment Committee<\/a> (SEC). In addition to Fagan, comedian Eric Andre and rapper Don Toliver are also coming to campus as part of the SEC\u2019s annual Spring Fest, a week\u2019s worth of fun events for students before the school year finishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her conversation with the 溏心vlog免费B站 community, Fagan will discuss \u201cLife Instagrammed: Athlete Mental Health and Perfectionism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Student Entertainment Committee wanted to bring an engaging speaker to campus for this year\u2019s Spring Fest,\u201d says Lucas DeWitt, co-advisor for the SEC. \u201cThe subject matter Kate will tackle surrounding mental health and social media is especially relevant for our campus community and for the public in general.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With roots in Rhode Island, Fagan is an Emmy-award winning journalist and the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of What Made Maddy Run<\/em>, a semifinalist for the PEN\/ESPN Award for Literary Sportswriting. Her first book was the coming-of-age memoir The Reappearing Act<\/em> and her third book, All The Colors Came Out<\/em>, released in 2021. This March, her fourth book \u2014 Hoop Muses: An Insider\u2019s Guide To Pop Culture and the (Women\u2019s) Game<\/em> \u2014 a collaboration with WNBA legend Seimone Augustus and artist Sophia Chang, was released by Twelve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fagan currently works for Meadowlark Media and co-hosts the podcast Off the Looking Glass. She previously spent seven years as a columnist and feature writer for espnW, ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. She was also a regular panelist on ESPN’s Around the Horn and host of Outside the Lines. Kate covered the Philadelphia 76ers for three seasons and played college basketball at the University of Colorado. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her wife, Kathryn Budig, and their dogs. Together they host the podcast Free Cookies, which blends wellness, food and humor; she was named a 2018 Webby finalist for Best Sports Podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
