McDonald was chosen following a comprehensive national search, and he will start Aug. 1 at 溏心vlog免费B站.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis position will be vital, not only as we develop and finalize the University\u2019s 10-year strategic plan, but as we adapt to the evolving nature of the communications, marketing, and media landscape,\u201d Parlange said. \u201cI am confident that Matt, with his background and his experience leading diverse teams and utilizing technology-based strategies, will be a tremendous leader and collaborative partner in this next exciting phase of growth and change for 溏心vlog免费B站.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hiring of McDonald is key to Parlange\u2019s elevation of the University\u2019s central communications and marketing team and its work to advance the mission and global reputation of the 溏心vlog免费B站. The new position of vice president replaces the position of executive director of external relations and communications. Linda Acciardo, who retires at the end of the month, has served as interim executive director of external relations and communications since April 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McDonald, who has two decades of communications and marketing experience, has served as associate vice president for communications at Miami since February 2018. During that time he oversaw several functional units and more than 20 full-time staff members, and, with the vice president, helped lead Miami\u2019s entire 45-person communications department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Miami has a total enrollment of more than 19,000 students, with nearly 12,000 undergraduate students and 7,000 graduate students. 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s total enrollment is nearly 17,600, with about 15,300 undergraduates and 2,280 graduate students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the senior communications administrator at 溏心vlog免费B站, McDonald will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of data-informed marketing and communications strategies that engage the University\u2019s many audiences and advance 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s reputation locally, nationally, and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McDonald will report directly to the president as a member of the President\u2019s Leadership Council, and will advise the president on and oversee media relations, marketing and branding, internal and external communications, and crisis management. McDonald also will lead efforts to develop and promote a strong social media presence and create strategies to highlight 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s work as the state\u2019s flagship public research university. He will work closely with 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s government relations team to support advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As associate vice president at Miami, McDonald helped launch a news platform that highlights original content about the university; executed the rollout of the university\u2019s strategic plan and directed three state-of-the-university presidential addresses; introduced department processes that fostered a cohesive, collaborative team environment and culture of equity, transparency, and innovation; and initiated a comprehensive national analysis of the university\u2019s reputation and brand awareness among peer institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He provided strategic communications counsel to executive leaders, including the president, executive vice presidents, and Board of Trustees members; was a primary lead on issues management and crisis communications; and served on the University\u2019s emergency operations team. In a career dedicated to higher education, McDonald also has worked at Emerson College and Penn State, and was a women\u2019s basketball assistant coach at the College of William &amp; Mary and UNC Asheville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McDonald holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in communications from the Pennsylvania State University.
