KINGSTON, R.I. \u2014 Oct. 19, 2020 \u2014 The latest installment of the 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Nursing Distinguished Lecture Series will feature Dr. Nancy L. Van Devanter, a professor with New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing and deputy director of the NYU Meyers WHO (World Health Organization) Collaborating Center. She is a public health expert who has worked with state and local health departments to develop programs to improve community-level health and public health practice.<\/p>\n
Dr. Van Devanter\u2019s presentation Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. \u2014 \u201cCOVID-19: Nurses\u2019 Experience in 4 New York City Hospitals, In their Own Words\u201d \u2014 would ordinarily be held at the Nursing Education Center in Providence, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it will be delivered remotely. Register here to receive a Zoom link to the lecture: https:\/\/cutt.ly\/0gfFobC<\/a>.<\/p>\n Since the 1990s, Dr. Van Devanter has conducted behavioral intervention research \u2014 integrating a community-based participatory research approach \u2014 into the development and testing of theory-driven interventions to promote health and reduce disease in populations with significant health disparities in HIV, sexually transmitted diseases and tobacco-related disease. She has been involved in numerous interdisciplinary collaborative studies with the NYU School of Medicine, Dentistry and Public Health Program.<\/p>\n Dr. Van Devanter received a Ph.D. from Columbia University School of Public Health, a Master\u2019s of Public Health degree from the Harvard University School of Public Health, and a Master\u2019s in Education degree from Boston University.<\/p>\n This continuing education activity has been submitted to the Northeast Multistate Division (NEMSD) for 1.0 Contact Hour.
