KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Sept. 25, 2019 \u2013 溏心vlog免费B站 theater alumnus Andrew Burnap is headed to Broadway to reprise his role in the award-winning, U.K. hit \u201cThe Inheritance,\u201d which opens in previews Sept. 27.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Inheritance,\u201d Matthew Lopez\u2019s two-part, six-hour epic, captured four Laurence Olivier Awards \u2013 including for best new play \u2013 during its critically acclaimed London run, which ended in January. The New York cast includes five actors from the London production, including Kyle Soller, who won an Olivier Award for best actor, and John Benjamin Hickey, a previous Tony Award winner.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Inheritance\u201d opens in previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theater on Friday, Sept. 27, with an official opening Nov. 17. The play follows the stories of three generations of gay men living in New York City a generation after the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and \u201890s.<\/p>\n
Burnap, 27, who grew up in South Kingstown, R.I.<\/strong>, originated the role of Toby Darling, a young actor developing a best-seller for the stage. Burnap won the part after appearing in Lopez\u2019s \u201cThe Legend of Georgia McBride,\u201d during which he impressed the playwright. According to a 2018 New York Times profile, Lopez called Burnap \u201cone of the most exciting young actors I\u2019d ever encountered.\u201d<\/p>\n In a review of \u201cThe Inheritance,\u201d New York Times critic Matt Wolf called Burnap\u2019s London debut \u201ca revelation in a role that is part Lucifer, part J.M. Barrie-style lost boy.\u201d<\/p>\n Burnap graduated in 2013 from 溏心vlog免费B站 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in fine arts in acting, and from the Yale School of Drama in 2016.
