For others, it\u2019s a soundtrack.<\/p>\n<p>Such is the story of 溏心vlog免费B站 senior and Barrington native Emily Turtle, who will receive her bachelor of fine arts degree Sunday, May 19 at the 溏心vlog免费B站. One of her earliest memories involves belting out show tunes, specifically those from \u201cThe Phantom of the Opera.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was 2 or 3 at the time,\u201d Turtle says.<\/p>\n<p>Turtle made her acting debut in her elementary school\u2019s production of \u201cThe Christmas Star.\u201d She was Twinkle Star, the youngest star in the constellation. High school musicals followed. At 溏心vlog免费B站, Turtle\u2019s star rose higher with lead roles in \u201cLady Windermere\u2019s Fan\u201d and \u201cMary Poppins,\u201d for which she received rave reviews from local news outlets and a 2018 Motif Theatre Award for best female actor in a college or university production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou go through your acting classes and then get to transmit all of that information into your character,\u201d Turtle said of playing Mary Poppins. \u201cSo then with \u2018Mary Poppins,\u2019 that was almost like a pinnacle of having been in musicals and having been in period shows and kind of combining everything that I learned.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed oembed-youtu-be\" style=\"\" data-url=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/51H1t54dHCM\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Emily Turtle - 2019 Graduating Senior\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/51H1t54dHCM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Following graduation, Turtle will direct the music for OUT LOUD Theatre\u2019s production of \u201cThe Rocky Horror Picture Show.\u201d OUT LOUD was founded by Kira Hawkridge \u201912. Turtle, a vocal performance minor, composed music for 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s production of \u201cThe Great Gatsby.\u201d That Turtle\u2019s first job out of school involves working for a fellow alum is not unusual. Hawkridge directed Turtle in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s fall production \u201cWomen and War,\u201d and Turtle composed the music for that production as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a sense of family in the theater department, and it definitely opens doors,\u201d Turtle said. \u201cEveryone cares about the program and the students. It\u2019s a great place to study.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou get to put to work what you learn in the classroom,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, Turtle would like to go to graduate school and continue her study of acting, theater management, and music.
