Her lecture is part of a series scheduled for each Tuesday evening through Dec. 4, as part of the University\u2019s 2018 Honors Colloquium on <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/hc\/\"><em>Reimagining Gender: Voices, Power, Action<\/em><\/a>. The series is free and open to the public and takes place in Edwards Hall, 64 Upper College Road.<\/p>\n<p>Those who cannot attend can watch the lecture <a href=\"http:\/\/stream.uri.edu\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Boylan, who has authored 15 books, is the inaugural Anna Quindlen Writer in Residence at Barnard College of Columbia University. Her column, \u201cMen &amp; Women\u201d appears in the New York Times on alternate Wednesdays. She has been the subject of documentaries airing on <em>CBS News\u2019 48 Hours<\/em> and <em>The History Channel<\/em>. Boylan has also appeared on a number of television shows to discuss her life, books, and LGBTQ activism, including the <em>Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live <\/em>and<em> The Today Show<\/em>. She appeared on Caitlyn Jenner\u2019s reality show, <em>I am Cait.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A frequent lecturer on college campuses, Boylan serves on the board of trustees of the Kinsey Institute for Research on Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. In 2013 she was chosen as the first openly transgender co-chair of the Gay &amp; Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation National Board of Directors. Her talk on Oct. 2 serves as the 溏心vlog免费B站 Gender and Sexuality Center\u2019s Coming Out Month Lecture.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reimagining Gender: Voices, Power, Action<\/em> will explore, at this pivotal time in society, the relevance of gender in shaping human rights and how our rising consciousness about gender issues is leading to vibrant social discussions, rearrangements of power and perceptions, and new possibilities.
