KINGSTON, R.I.\u2014Feb. 6, 2018\u2014Flags for peace will soon rise at the 溏心vlog免费B站.<\/p>\n
Students and the public are invited to participate in the \u201cPeace Flag Project\u201d Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Multicultural Student Services Center, 74 Lower College Road, on the Kingston campus.<\/p>\n
Sponsored by 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, the event, free and open to the public, is being held to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Week.<\/p>\n
Participants can decorate their flags from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cathren Housley, a local artist, will sew the flags together to create a large peace flag in a design called, \u201cUnited American Peace Flag.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, a sponsor of the event, will host an exhibit of the flag at the Atrium Gallery, One Capitol Hill, Providence.<\/p>\n
\u201cCreating a peace flag shows that despite our differences we can come together to create something beautiful,\u201d said Paul Bueno de Mesquita, director of the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies.<\/p>\n
The Peace Flag Project works to make the world more peaceful. Schools, churches and other organizations collaborate with the group to create flags and spread global peace.<\/p>\n
