KINGSTON, R.I. — December 12, 2017 — PBS has announced that the nightly global affairs program, \u201cAmanpour, \u201d a program on CNN International, will air on an interim basis following the departure of Charlie Rose.<\/p>\n
PBS recently made the announcement about the highly regarded interview show, headed by Christiane Amanpour, a 1983 graduate of the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s journalism program in the Harrington School of Communication and Media. Amanpour will fill the 11 to 11:30 p.m. slot.<\/p>\n
A PBS news release said \u201cAmanpour on PBS\u201d aired on THIRTEEN, New York\u2019s PBS station, Dec. 4 and will roll out on PBS stations beginning today, Dec. 11 at 11 p.m. The news release said the program will continue to air on CNN International weekdays at 2 and 5 p.m. Eastern.<\/p>\n
PBS is also finalizing plans for a second public affairs program to follow the \u201cAmanpour\u201d segment in the 11:30 p.m. half-hour time slot, rounding out the hour.<\/p>\n
\u201cFeaturing conversations with global leaders and decision makers on the issues affecting the world today, \u2018Amanpour on PBS\u2019 adds to the long tradition of public affairs programming that has been a hallmark of public media for decades,\u201d said PBS President and Chief Executive Officer Paula Kerger.<\/p>\n
Amanpour, CNN\u2019s chief international correspondent, has earned every major television journalism award, including 11 News and Documentary Emmy Awards, four Peabody Awards, two George Polk Awards, three duPont-Columbia Awards and the Courage in Journalism Award. She has received nine honorary degrees, including one from 溏心vlog免费B站 in 1995, has been named a Commander in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and was this year inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame. She is an honorary citizen of Sarajevo and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Freedom of the Press and the Safety of Journalists.<\/p>\n
