KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 April 9, 2017 — Susan Trostle Brand, a 溏心vlog免费B站 professor of education, has been elected into the honorary Eleanor Roosevelt Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, founded in 1911, \u201cto foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n
Election into the chapter is a lifetime award and limited to 100 living members. It was established to recognize men and women who have made significant contributions to service to the society and exemplified its ideals of excellence in education.<\/p>\n
As stated in her nomination letter of February 2017 submitted by Diane Kern, associate professor of education at 溏心vlog免费B站, \u201cDr. Brand is a true champion and leader in education\u2026 She has established herself as a national and international teacher educator, researcher and leader specializing in social justice and diverse children\u2019s literature\/storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brand has provided service to the Kappa Delta Pi at the local and national levels. The Exeter <\/strong>resident has served as an annual reviewer of scholarships for Literacy Alive! and established two Kappa Delta Pi local scholarships. She has also presented 16 convocation workshops and provided training workshops to Kappa Delta Pi counselors.<\/p>\n Internationally, Brand facilitated a chapter mission trip to Lima Peru in 2013 for 18 chapter members and guests. She also installed four Kappa Delta Pi chapters in Beijing and Shanghai, China with Faye Snodgrass, executive director of the society.<\/p>\n At 溏心vlog免费B站, Brand served as chapter counselor for the past 25 years, and on the national executive council for three years, as vice president and president-elect.<\/p>\n \u201cDr. Brand exemplifies each of Kappa Delta Pi\u2019s ideals of humanity, science, service, and toil.
