KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 May 1, 2017 – Barrington High School has become accustomed to winning the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Calc-Bowl, having captured first place in the previous two years of the math quiz competition. Now it can add a third plaque to its trophy case after this year\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n

Third place ended in a tie between Cranston East High School and Barrington High School\u2019s second team. Cranston East\u2019s team members were Noah Gibb, Joe Murphy, Sean Su and Sean Curry. Eliot Laidlaw, Ingrid Kenyon, Michael Chung, Wanqing Li and Ryan Brady were on Barrington\u2019s second team.<\/p>\n

The event was organized and hosted by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Professor Li Wu. The high school students answered questions and solved problems at the pre-calculus and levels and competed for more than $1,000 in prizes. The 溏心vlog免费B站 Office of the Provost offered a $500 溏心vlog免费B站 scholarship to each member of the winning team.<\/p>\n

Wu organizes the competition every year with Mathematics Department colleagues, Professor and Department Chair James Baglama, and Associate Professors Tom Bella and Lubos Thoma, and Assistant Professor Vasilije Perovic. The event was sponsored by Belmont Fruit Market, Pi Mu Epsilon, a national mathematics honor society, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, 溏心vlog免费B站 Department of Mathematics and Wiley, a global company provides content enabled solutions to improve outcomes in research, education and professional practice.<\/p>\n
