KINGSTON, R.I., Feb. 27, 2017\u2014Tsepak Rigzin, a scholar of Tibet\u2019s history, culture and language, will speak at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Friday, March 3.<\/p>\n

The talk, free and open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. in the Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences, 120 Flagg Road, on the Kingston campus.<\/p>\n

Rigzin, a lecturer of Tibetan language at Emory University, will discuss the crucial role of nonviolence in Tibetan culture, history and tradition. He\u2019ll also talk about the Tibetan diaspora and share his personal experiences.<\/p>\n

The talk is sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, which organizes educational programs, training workshops and a lecture series to promote nonviolence, peace and well-being.<\/p>\n

Rigzin received his master\u2019s degree from Punjab University in India and traditional Buddhist training from the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics.\u00a0\u00a0 He is the author and co-author of many books and articles on Tibetan Buddhism and he has extensive experience in written and oral translation.<\/p>\n

He began teaching Tibetan language courses at Emory in 2009.\u00a0 He was also scholar in residence and official translator for Drepung Loseling Monastery in Atlanta, where he worked on outreach programs and also taught the Tibetan language.<\/p>\n
