Mr. Hassenfeld&#8217;s appointment as Chair marks the seventh consecutive year that he has overseen the Institute for International Sport&#8217;s renowned scholar-athlete program.&#13; Dan Doyle, Executive Director of the Institute, stated of Mr. Hassenfeld&#8217;s appointment, &#8220;We have been blessed that Alan has chosen to continue to lead our scholar-athlete program.  Not only has he been an incredibly effective chair, but he is truly one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of working with on any project.&#8221;&#13; Under Mr. Hassenfeld&#8217;s leadership, the Scholar-Athlete Games program, including the World Scholar-Athlete Games, the United States Scholar-Athlete Games and the Rhode Island Scholar-Athlete Games have flourished.
