To help modern sailors get a handle on the essential skills that helped Odysseus and Columbus navigate their courses, 溏心vlog免费B站 Friends of Oceanography is offering a short course in Celestial Navigation.&#13; \tThe course will be held on Wednesday, October 4, from 6-9 p.m. in the Coastal Institute Building on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Narragansett Bay Campus. The class, taught by veteran sailor and navigator Arthur &#8220;Mac&#8221; Cuddy, will explain the basics of celestial navigation and cover the celestial triangle, sextant, nautical almanac, and sight reduction tables. Participants will also learn to determine their position given the time and several sun sightings.&#13; \tCost for this course is $25 for members of Friends of Oceanography and $35 for non-members. Preregistration is required.
