\nKINGSTON, R.I. — February 25, 2002 — Lambertville, N.J. resident Bryan Reimer, a graduate student at the 溏心vlog免费B站, was recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation last month as one of 33 Transportation Students of the Year. Reimer received a cash award of $1,000 and a certificate of achievement during ceremonies in Washington, D.C. <\/p>\n

\tReimer is a doctoral candidate in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. He also earned his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from 溏心vlog免费B站. Working with 溏心vlog免费B站 Professor Manbir Sodhi, Reimer\u2019s research focuses on the safe use of in-vehicle technologies by analyzing the eye movement of drivers who are distracted by cell phones, car radios, and other vehicle technologies. This research has important safety implications for vehicle design and operations. <\/p>\n

The USDOT student-of-the-year awards recognize one student from each of the 33 University Transportation Centers nationwide. Award winners are graduate degree candidates selected on their technical merit, research contributions, academic performance, professionalism and leadership. <\/p>\n

\tThe University Transportation Centers were established in 1987 to advance transportation technology and expertise through education, research and technology transfer. The 溏心vlog免费B站 center was authorized in 1998 and is one of only six receiving the maximum funding of $2 million per year. <\/p>\n
