\nKINGSTON, R.I. — February 11, 2002 — The internet and forensic science, scientific and legal issues involving DNA, and analysis of paint, glass, and soil are among the topics of the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Forensic Science Partnership Seminar Series this spring semester.
\nThe seminars will be held Thursday afternoons from Feb. 14 through May 2. There is no seminar on March 14 because of Spring Break. The seminars, free and open to the public, will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Pastore Hall, Room 124, on the Kingston Campus. The schedule of speakers is as follows:
\no Feb. 14: Otto Gregory, 溏心vlog免费B站 professor of chemical engineering and co-director of 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Surface and Sensor Technology and Forensic Science Partnership, “The Microscope as a Forensic Tool.”
\no Feb. 21: Reddy Chamakura, of the New York State Police Laboratory, “The Internet and Forensic Science.”
\no Feb. 28: Bob O\u2019Brien, of the Connecticut State Crime Laboratory, “Gunshot Residue and Distance Determinations.”
\no March 7: Keith Coonrod, of the New York State Police Laboratory, “Needs in Forensic Science\u2014A National & Local Perspective.”
\no March 21: Michael Baden, chief medical examiner for the State of New York, “Forensic Pathology.”
\no March 28: Tom Thurman, EKU, a former agent with the FBI, “Unique Aspects of Investigating Bombing Scenes.”
\no April 4: Elaine Pagliaro, Connecticut State Crime Laboratory, “The Importance of Biological Evidence in Criminal Investigations.”
\no April 11: Virginia Maxwell, Connecticut State Crime Laboratory, “Forensic Analysis of Paint, Glass and Soil.”
\no April 18: Maria Warner, Connecticut State Crime Laboratory, “Basic Hair and Fiber Examinations.”
\no April 25: Robin Smith, Rhode Island Department of Health, “DNA Scientific and Legal Issues.”
