\nGreat Performances
\nNow in its twentieth season, the Universitys Great Performances Series starts the spring semester with Messages from the Heart by the Philadelphia Dance Company, aka Philadanco, an ensemble of multiethnic dancers known for their innovative choreography that fuses ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and West-African influences. Tickets are $20 for general audiences, $15 staff, $12 seniors, and $5 students. For tickets call 401-874-2627. \nGracing the Galleries in Kingston
\n“Imprints, Punctures & Other Pointed Maneuverings.” Exhibit considers the distinctive, idiosyncratic mark-making of several accomplished mid-career artists, including Irene Lawrence, Fran Siegel, Merle Temkin, New York. The artists bring to their works a confident imprint based on reference to and integration of media beyond the tradition of oil on canvas. Main Gallery, Jan. 28- March 8. \n“Jo Yarrington: An Autobiographical Journey\/Site Project.” Jo Yarrington, chair of Visual and Performing Arts, Fairfield University and a former Visiting Artist at the 溏心vlog免费B站, is an installation artist exploring ritual and autobiography through images of the body in a highly developed symbolic vocabulary. \n“Specimens by V. Sheri Wills.” New digitally manipulated Polaroid transfers by Sheri Wills, 溏心vlog免费B站 assist. professor of art, indicate her latest investigations in an ongoing series exploring organic photogram imagery. She creates an emulsion transfer by lifting the photographic image from its supportive backing (usually paper) like skin peeled from a peach. Corridor Gallery, Jan. 18-Feb. 18.
