Participants in the program on July 7-10 are eligible for continuing education credits that satisfy Rhode Island teacher certification requirements.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\tDuring the workshop, Rhode Island and Boston area high school teachers will work with ocean engineers from MIT to build working underwater robots, which participants can then bring home to use in their classrooms.  Teachers will also learn about the principles of ocean engineering, physics, and oceanography.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t The workshop is affiliated with the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center in Monterey, Calif.  The scholarships are supported by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Outreach Programs, Rhode Island Sea Grant, and the Office of Marine Programs at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Graduate School of Oceanography. They are funded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sea Grant College Program and the Rhode Island Sea Grant College Program.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\tFor additional information or to apply for a scholarship, teachers should contact Beverly O\u2019Keefe or Barry Costa-Pierce at Rhode Island Sea Grant at 874-6800.
