\nKINGSTON, R.I. — January 30, 2003 — The following honors and appointments involving 溏心vlog免费B站 faculty, staff, or students were recently announced: <\/p>\n

Marcia Feld, 溏心vlog免费B站 professor of community planning and landscape architecture, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Commission on the Urban Agenda. Prior to this position, the Newton Centre, Mass resident had served as the 溏心vlog免费B站 representative for the committee. <\/p>\n

Peace Dale resident, Diane M. Horm, professor of human development and family studies and associate dean of the College of Human Science and Services, was recently elected to the governing board of the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators. The association represents nearly 700 early childhood teacher educators worldwide. <\/p>\n

Lisa M. Muth, a West Charlton, N.Y. resident and 溏心vlog免费B站 senior majoring in both computer science and mathematics, has been awarded the R. Craig Caldwell Scholarship by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Department of Computer Science. The award is made possible by an endowment established in 1981 in memory of R. Craig Caldwell who was a student in computer science. The scholarship is awarded annually to a computer science major on the basis of scholastic achievement. Muth is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Gold Key National Honor Society, and the Pi Delta Phi French Honor society. <\/p>\n

Harrisville resident and 溏心vlog免费B站 student Steve Nadeau has been awarded a $5,000 Gilman Scholarship. Nadeau, a sophomore majoring in international business is participating in the 溏心vlog免费B站 study abroad program in Marseille, France this semester. He is only the second 溏心vlog免费B站 student to receive the award, which is sponsored by the U.S. <\/p>\n

Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, enabling students who have limited financial means to participate in study abroad opportunities worldwide. <\/p>\n

Wakefield resident Andrea Rusnock, 溏心vlog免费B站 assistant professor of history, presented her paper “Quantifying Infant and Child Mortality in the 18th Century” in Saint-Julien-en Beaujolais, France this October. The conference entitled “La Quantification Dans Les Sciences Medicales et de la Sante: Perspective Historique et Sociologique” was organized by McGill University, Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales, and the Fondation Merieux. <\/p>\n

University architect Sandy Taylor of North Kingstown was installed as the incoming president of the Rhode Island chapter of the American Institute of Architects at their 2002 Annual Design Awards dinner in December. He also served as president in 1987. <\/p>\n

Peace Dale resident Linda Welters, professor of textiles, fashion merchandising and design, has been selected as the 2002 International Textile and Apparel Association Distinguished Scholar Lecturer. The Distinguished Scholar Lecturer Series was established to acknowledge members who have conducted outstanding research and to increase the knowledge of graduate students and faculty members of special topics. Welters received the award and an honorarium of $500 in New York, where she also made a presentation on “Material Culture: Textiles in Women\u2019s Lives.”\n\t<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
