Modeled after the National Junior Master Gardener program, the new program will also incorporate teaching resources in environmentally sustainable horticultural practices and the importance of agriculture in Rhode Island.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\tThe program will be introduced at a workshop for teachers and youth group leaders on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s East Farm in Kingston.  Pre-registration is required by Feb. 24.  The workshop costs $40.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8220;The centerpiece of the Junior Master Gardener program is a high quality teacher guide filled with group and individual learning activities that can be integrated into math, science, social studies and language arts lessons,&#8221; said Ernest Morreira, Cooperative Extension educator at 溏心vlog免费B站 and the workshop organizer.  &#8220;The program not only teaches about plants, but it inspires career exploration, service learning and leadership development.&#8221;&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\tDuring the workshop, participants will review the science concepts and teaching methods contained in the curriculum guide.  Discussions will be held about gardening, food science, and commercial agriculture in Rhode Island.
