They will begin rehearsals Friday morning in preparation for a finale event the evening of Saturday, Feb. 1.  At the concert\u2019s conclusion the 溏心vlog免费B站 Music Dept. will award two scholarships, one for $1,000 and the other for $500, to the most talented and dedicated participants. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>Brian Chardany, coordinator of the event and head coach of the 溏心vlog免费B站 athletic bands says, &#8220;The Honors Band is a great way for talented students to get together and make great music.  It allows them to not only share their talents with each other, but also the surrounding community.&#8221;&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The scheduled events also include performances by 溏心vlog免费B站 faculty and students.  &#8220;We have selected a wide variety of music that will emphasize the diversity of the musical talent present on the 溏心vlog免费B站 campus,&#8221; said Chardany.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The following events are free and open to the public.  Performances will take place in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Friday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m. A Collage of Musical Ensembles&#13;<\/p>\n<p>This hour\u2013long concert will feature the 溏心vlog免费B站 Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Ensembles and student soloists. &#13;<\/p>\n<p> Saturday, Feb. 1, 3 p.m. 溏心vlog免费B站 Faculty Recital&#13;<\/p>\n<p>This concert will feature faculty members playing a variety of instruments.  Featured performers include: Susan Thomas, flute; Jonathan Towne, clarinet; Rebecca Noreen, bassoon; Ronald Stabile, percussion; and the Northeast Quintet with Jane Murray, oboe and Elizabeth Gates, French horn. &#13;<\/p>\n<p> Saturday, Feb. 1, 7 p.m. Southern New England Honors Band&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Conductor Robert C. Flemming, professor emeritus, Arizona State University will perform, along with Southern New England\u2019s finest instrumentalists in a festival finale.
