Carothers will announce tonight that a yearly scholarship named after actor and activist Christopher Reeve will be given to a student enrolled at the University\u2019s Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Continuing Education at the Providence Campus. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship is to commemorate Reeve\u2019s visit to the University to speak on stem cell research. His talk is part of 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Honors Colloquium series this fall on the ethical, legal, and social impact of genetic technology.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8220;I welcome this opportunity to honor a man who has faced great adversity and is making great progress to overcome it,&#8221; said philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein who donated the funds for the scholarship. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This scholarship will go each year to a student at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Feinstein College, many of whom have struggled themselves to overcome adversity and are willing and eager to work hard to better their lives.&#8221;&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The value of the scholarship will range from $500 to $1,500 yearly. Those interested in applying for the scholarship should call 277-5162. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>The first Christopher Reeve Scholarship will be awarded for the spring \u201903 semester.
