The lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served prior to the lecture.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWitkowski is the team leader of the organic branch of the vibrational spectroscopy laboratory at the FDA Forensic Chemistry Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vibrational spectroscopy is used to separate and identify the components of mixtures in chemical substances.  His duties include performing FT-IR Raman and micro-analytical analysis of counterfeit pharmaceuticals, and tampered food and pharmaceutical products. He has worked for the center since 2000. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nPrior to his position with the FDA, Witkowski worked for Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Corp. where he developed methods of forensic analysis and detection of counterfeit chemical compounds in medications. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHis research interests include developing methods of detection for counterfeit products and packaging; analysis of the chemical characterization of controlled substances; and developing methods of detection for tampered drug and food products.  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Forensic Science Seminar Series is a semester-long program offered by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Forensic Science Partnership.
