S. Green Building Council LEED\u00ae (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) training workshop for building professionals. The workshop will be held Monday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University Club on Upper College Road, Kingston Campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe workshop is open to all individuals involved in the building industry.  If registered by  Oct. 11, fees are $325 for USGBC members and $425 for non-members.  After Oct. 11, rates are $355 and $475 respectively. To register visit www.usgbc.org.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe LEED\u00ae  Green Building Rating System that will be taught is a comprehensive design and assessment tool that can help building professionals improve energy efficiency and measure the sustainability of their projects. The workshop will introduce basic green-building design benefits and strategies, show participants how to use the LEED rating system, and help prepare participants to sit for the LEED Accredited Professional exam.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe training is considered to be an important step for helping professionals reduce environmental impacts and achieve superior economic performance on projects and properties. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe U.S. Green Building Council is the nation\u2019s leading coalition of corporations, builders, universities, federal and local agencies, and nonprofit organizations working together to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
