University officials are making arrangements for the lot to be included in the regular on-campus bus service provided by the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAn additional 1,400 spaces will be available in late spring. That total includes a permanent 600-space lot near the Dining Services warehouse at Plains and Flagg roads and an 800-space expansion of the Ryan Center lot on Plains Road.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tCampus officials said there has been a tremendous increase in the number of vehicles registered by students, and during peak times, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., there is little turnover of student vehicles. Last year, the University registered 4,300 students for commuter parking passes.
