The lecture is free and open to the public. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nSince 1999, Canning has worked at the FBI\u2019s National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime in Quantico, Va. As part of the center\u2019s Behavioral Analysis Unit- III, she exclusively works on crimes against children, specifically abduction, homicide, and sexual exploitation. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nPrior to her working at the center, she was a field agent in the Philadelphia Field Division as well as in the Montgomery, Ala. Resident Agency. During her time as a field agent, she was also a crimes against children coordinator and a member of the Evidence Response Team.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nShe is involved with two ongoing research projects: studying false allegations of child abduction as well as one on the online sexual victimization of children. Canning is also coordinating an International Symposium on the Online Sexual Victimization of Children to be held in June 2004.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nA graduate of Roger Williams University, she earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in criminal justice.
