Gregg Mokrzycki of the Questioned Documents Unit (QDU)\t will speak on the analysis of document fraud.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe lecture will take place on Friday, April 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 124 of Pastore Hall on the Kingston Campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nWith professional-quality technology so readily available, it is easy for opportunists to forge virtually any document in a short period of time. Whereas analysts used to see obvious traces of cutting and pasting, today&#8217;s computers, photocopiers, scanners, and digital cameras make their job more difficult. But not impossible.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe FBI lab in Washington D.C. analyzes documents, both on the surface and within the paper itself. Ink, watermarks, safety fibers, and perforations are examined. Aside from examinations, the QDU provides court testimony, technical support and training for field investigators, and research and evaluation of newly developed technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMokrzycki is a member of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners and was a facilitator at its annual meeting in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe lecture series is a semester-long program offered by 溏心vlog免费B站&#8217;s Forensic Science Partnership and continues through April 30. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KINGSTON, R.I. &#8212; April 16 2004 &#8212; A forensic examiner from the FBI will be the latest speaker at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Forensic Science Seminar Series.
