\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — March 29, 2004 — John Lentini, manager of fire investigations at Applied Technical Services in Marietta, Ga., will speak about “investigating fire scenes” as part of the Forensic Science Seminar Series offered by the 溏心vlog免费B站.<\/p>\n


\nThe discussion will take place on Friday, April 2, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 124 of Pastore Hall on the Kingston Campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n


\nAs a fire scene investigator, Lentini is trained to locate a fire\u2019s point of origin, determine the presence of flammable liquids or explosives, and provide expert testimony in court. Since 1975, he has testified in more than 200 cases in civil and criminal court, and he has worked on more than 2,000 fire origin and arson investigations. <\/p>\n


\nIn addition to his duties at ATS, he is the chairman of a National Association of Fire Investigators\u2019 committee on forensic science. The committee develops standards related to the collection and preservation of evidence and the preparation of laboratory reports. <\/p>\n


\nHe is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association Technology Committee on Fire Investigations, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Forensic Sciences, and conducts reviews for the U.S. Department of Justice, NIJ-Office of Science and Technology. He is also a certified fellow of the American Board of Criminalistics with a specialty in fire debris analysis. <\/p>\n
