Walters, a senior double-majoring in computer science and mathematics at the 溏心vlog免费B站 has been awarded the R. Craig Caldwell Scholarship by the Department of Computer Science.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe award is made possible by an endowment established in 1981 in memory of R. Craig Caldwell who was a computer science student.  The scholarship is awarded annually to a computer science major on the basis of scholastic achievement.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nWalters is from East Providence and graduated from East Providence High School in 2000.  Originally planning to major in another area, his interest in computer science was piqued by an introductory computer science course at 溏心vlog免费B站.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHis interests in computer science have ranged broadly across the discipline, from cryptography, to compilers, to computer algebra.  He is presently working with a faculty member on developing a user-friendly interface to a computer algebra system.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tIn addition to his academic interests, Walters is interested in photography and urban legends, unverified but widely believed stories about modern life.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAlthough plans for next year are not finalized, graduate school is a definite possibility.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KINGSTON, R.I. &#8212; March 4, 2004 &#8212; Derek J.
