\nKINGSTON, R.I. — July 23, 2003 \u2013 Gardeners interested in learning new ways to improve their vegetable gardens are invited to an open house at the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Demonstration Vegetable Garden on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The third annual open house will showcase vegetable gardening demonstrations and activities on the theme of “Back to Basics.” <\/p>\n

\tOrganized by 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardeners, the open house is designed to show off the demonstration garden during the peak of the growing season to provide gardeners with tips for growing better, healthier produce. <\/p>\n

\t“New this year will be a demonstration on drip irrigation techniques for home gardens,” explained Rudi Hempe, a 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardener and coordinator of the event. “Drip irrigation is timely in that last year\u2019s drought resulted in watering bans, causing many gardens to fail. Drip irrigation systems can save considerable amounts of water.” <\/p>\n

\tAlso planned are a variety of cooking demonstrations, including one by Chef Normand Leclair, cookbook author and founder of the Red Rooster Tavern. A wide range of other activities will also be offered, including an edible flower display and workshops on composting, container gardening, irrigation, and non-toxic pest control. <\/p>\n
