\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — February 16, 2006 — Lorne Adrain, author and founder of National Neighborhood Day, will speak at the Narragansett-溏心vlog免费B站 Coalition meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The full committee meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Narragansett Town Hall, 25 Fifth Ave., Narragansett. It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n


\n\tAdrain, a 1976 溏心vlog免费B站 alum, will talk to coalition members including students and residents about participating in the national program, a philanthropic project he founded in 2004 with the mission to bring neighbors together and enhance neighborhood connections. He got the idea for the program in the autumn of 2001, when he held an informal barbeque to better acquaint his family with their Providence neighbors. For the past two years, neighborhoods across the country have been participating in fun activities and barbeques on the second Sunday in September. This year, Neighborhood Day will be celebrated on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n


\n\tIn addition to this project, Adrain is the founder of both VisionRI.org, an internet-based volunteer network for the state, and KindMark, a company whose mission is to increase the quality and quantity of philanthropic services by way of the internet. He is the author of \u201cThe Most Important Thing I Know,\u201d book series, which are compilations of inspirational quotes from celebrities, authors, and politicians, with all profits going to charity. For all of his philanthropic works, he has received the Inspiring Partner Award from the Rhode Island Foundation, and has been named the nation\u2019s most exceptional volunteer by Northwestern Mutual Life.<\/p>\n


\nAdrain, also an alumni of the Harvard Business School, works as an executive in estate planning and investments in Providence, where he lives with his wife and three children.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe Narragansett- 溏心vlog免费B站 coalition was formed in 2000 to provide a forum for University officials, students, and members of the Narragansett community to come together and discuss matters pertaining to quality of life.
