\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — August 16, 2005 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Department announces upcoming audition dates for two plays, Blithe Spirit and Romeo and Juliet.The auditions are open to the public. Here are the scenarios and requirements:<\/p>\n


\nBLITHE SPIRIT

\nAN IMPROBABLE FARCE IN THREE ACTS

\nDirector: Alan Hawkridge<\/p>\n


\nCharles, a British novelist happily married to his wife Ruth, is writing a novel which involves the supernatural. He has the happy inspiration of asking Madame Arcati, the local medium, to demonstrate a s\u00e9ance. However, the s\u00e9ance is pretty much a failure while the lights are out. Finally, everyone goes home, leaving Charles and Ruth alone. A strong breeze blows in, parting the window curtains, and Charles\u2019 first wife, Elvira, dead for seven years, sweeps into the room. The situation is complicated by the fact that only Charles can see her. From this initial encounter, Noel Coward has fashioned a play which is hilarious as only a Coward farce can be. There are five roles for women and two for men.<\/p>\n

\nRequirements: \tRead the play prior to audition. Prepare a Shakespearean monologue, comedic or dramatic, NOT from Romeo and Juliet, no more than 3 minutes. If you play an instrument, please bring it with you and be prepared to play and sing along, live. No recorded pieces, please.<\/p>\n
