  {"id":68938,"date":"2005-07-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/uncategorized\/uri-alumni-association-announces-polices-for-use-rental-of-public-spaces-at-new-alumni-center\/"},"modified":"2005-07-18T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-07-18T00:00:00","slug":"uri-alumni-association-announces-polices-for-use-rental-of-public-spaces-at-new-alumni-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2005\/07\/uri-alumni-association-announces-polices-for-use-rental-of-public-spaces-at-new-alumni-center\/","title":{"rendered":"溏心vlog免费B站 Alumni Association announces polices for use, rental of public spaces at new Alumni Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"press-release-import\">\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/alumniLewis05_020.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" align=\"right\"\/>KINGSTON, R.I. &#8212; July 18, 2005 &#8212; The 溏心vlog免费B站 Alumni Association has announced policies for use and rental of the new Alumni Center on Upper College Road to establish its role as a warm and inviting meeting place for alumni, other members of the University family and community members. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe 21,000-square-foot center is located at 73 Upper College Road, former site of Sigma Chi fraternity, and is designed to be a \u201chome away from home for 溏心vlog免费B站 alumni.\u201d It offers meeting and reception space in a gracious and comfortable setting, as well as offices for the Division of University Advancement, which includes the Alumni Association.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\u201cWe are very proud of this new addition to the campus,\u201d said Michele Nota, executive director of the Alumni Association. \u201cAnd we want alumni, faculty, staff, students and the local community to know that they are welcome to use these beautiful new spaces for meetings, informal get-togethers and celebrations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe facility provides generous outdoor and indoor welcoming areas and features a shingled exterior with French doors, bays, gables and front and rear porches.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe first floor features a stone fireplace that accents the 900-square foot lounge and reception area that opens to an executive boardroom, conference room and outdoor terrace.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe following are among the major provisions of the use and rental policy. Please go to the web at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advance.uri.edu\/alumni\/alumnicenter\">www.advance.uri.edu\/alumni\/alumnicenter<\/a> for a complete copy of the policy.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Fees<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tNo fee charged to students, faculty and staff members during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAll dues-paying members of the Alumni Association receive a 10 percent membership discount.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe individual who signs the rental agreement is responsible for any damage incurred during an event.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tEvents after 5 p.m. require a two-hour minimum for booking.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe community rate fee for each room is: lounge, $200; boardroom, $100; terrace, $100 and conference room, $50.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Hours of Operation<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWeekday evening receptions are prohibited from setting up until 5 p.m. without special approval.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAfter business hours, the organization renting the space must cover all costs of keeping the center open before and after normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tGatherings must be scheduled at least four weeks in advance, but they will be scheduled on a first-come, first served basis.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tCleanup after the event will be the responsibility of the organization renting the space.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Guidelines and Restrictions<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tNo alcohol, smoking or tobacco products are allowed inside the Alumni Center or on the outside patios.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe individual making the reservation must attend the event, and he or she must ensure that all guidelines are followed.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAll decorations and rental items need approval of the Alumni Center event coordinator.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAll fireplace use must be approved<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tMusic must be approved, and it cannot begin until 6:30 p.m. and must end by 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Tents<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tTents are permitted on the lawn of the Alumni Center.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tIf an event includes the use of a tent, Dig Safe must be notified 10 days earlier. Please call Dig Safe at 888-7233 or apply online at www.digsafe.com.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Catering<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe University\u2019s Catering Services is the exclusive provider for all catered food and beverage service at the Alumni Center.
