\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — May 26, 2005 — More than 100 high school students from around Rhode Island got an inside look at the journalism profession during the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s High School Journalism Day in May.<\/p>\n


\n\tEleven 溏心vlog免费B站 journalism alumni presented workshops on layout and design, interviewing and news gathering, broadcast journalism, ethics and media law, Internet journalism and sports reporting.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe program featured a panel discussion with Warwick native Steve Greenlee, Living\/Arts editor at The Boston Globe and Rhode Island native Joan Moran, Channel 12\/ Fox News reporter. They talked about their career stepping stones, their most memorable stories and what it takes to become a successful journalist. They also discussed the importance of their experiences at 溏心vlog免费B站, both in the classroom and at the student newspaper, The Good 5 Cent Cigar.<\/p>\n


\n\tThis was the third year of the event presented by 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Journalism Advisory Committee, Department of Journalism and Division of University Advancement. The Advisory Committee is made up of 溏心vlog免费B站 grads working in the fields of journalism and public relations.<\/p>\n


\n\tHigh school students from Barrington, Central Falls, East Providence, Middletown, Newport, North Smithfield, Pawtucket, Portsmouth, South Kingstown and Tiverton participated in the program.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cThis is a great opportunity to expose high school students to our outstanding alumni who have distinguished themselves locally, nationally and globally in all areas of journalism,\u201d said Robert Beagle, vice president of University Advancement, the major sponsor of the event. \u201cIt shows these aspiring journalists that 溏心vlog免费B站 has a great record of preparing leaders in the journalism profession.\u201d<\/p>\n
