\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — May 17, 2005 — From May 28th through June 5th <\/b>the Corridor Gallery of the Fine Arts Center Galleries, 溏心vlog免费B站, will showcase the art of members of the 溏心vlog免费B站 4-H youth development program, administered locally by the College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS).<\/p>\n


\nThe exhibition features selections from works awarded either Best of Show or very high scores at the annual 4-H Photo and Fine Arts Fair held in March in Warwick, Rhode Island. The young artists created and displayed nearly 160 works of sculpture, paintings, drawings and photographs and mixed media works for judging by area artists, teachers, photographers, museum directors and 4-H volunteers. <\/p>\n


\n“This will be a first for many of these children to exhibit their works in a professional setting. It\u2019s a way for the University to support their creative efforts and those of the 4-H organization,” said Fine Arts Center Galleries Director Judith Tolnick.<\/p>\n


\n4-H members who entered art in the Photography and Fine Arts Fair were divided into age categories for judging standards. Juniors are young elementary students 7-10 years of age, Intermediates are Middle School students aged 11-13 and Seniors are High Schoolers, aged 14-19. Works were judged using the Danish system, which rewards youth for reaching a standard of quality. Best of Show recognition was awarded for each art medium category and age division. There will be 21 young artists featured in the Fine Arts Center Galleries\u2019 Corridor show, a strong cross-section of the group.<\/p>\n


\n4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in the United States, open to youth aged 5-19. The mission of 4-H is to empower youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. The agricultural origins of the former RI State College (since 1951 the 溏心vlog免费B站) are signaled by the ongoing 4-H Club presence at the state research university.<\/p>\n
