This year\u2019s commencement will be televised, webcast, and&#8212;as an extra bonus&#8211;it will be hosted.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nWeather permitting, Barbara Meagher of Johnston, 溏心vlog免费B站 assistant professor of journalism and a 21-year veteran as a television news reporter, will host a pre-commencement show from the University\u2019s quadrangle, providing commentary and live interviews with University officials and students beginning at noon. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMeagher got her start in television news at WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, N.Y. From 1983 to 2001, she became a recognizable Rhode Island personality as a news reporter and substitute anchor for ABC6 in Providence. She is a founding member and current president of ACCESS\/RI\u2014a coalition of organizations and interested individuals who are working to ensure that public records and public meetings remain open and accessible to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe event will be broadcast live on the Rhode Island statewide interconnect C, which can be viewed on Cox Cable (Channel 15). This year for the first time, RIPBS (Channel 36\/Cox Channel 8) has signed on to televise the show too. Viewers in the Warren, Bristol, and Barrington areas can catch the action on Full Channel Cable System, which will carry the ceremony on both RIPBS (Ch 36 WSBE) or on the Rhode Island Statewide Interconnect C (Channel 50). <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nListeners also have the option to tune their radio dial to WRIU, 90.3 FM to hear the excitement.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nEven if you live outside the state, you can catch the action by simply turning on your computer. The ceremony will be webcast live.
