\n\t\tState Of Bolivia<\/i>, April 4-29<\/b><\/p>\n

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — March 22, 2005 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 Feinstein Providence Campus gallery will present “The State of Bolivia,” a mixed-media exhibit of original works celebrating the country’s rich folklore, literature, film, photography, music and arts.<\/p>\n


\nFree and open to the public, the exhibit runs April 4 – 29. A gallery night reception, hosted by Gladys Corvera-Baker, director of the Galeria Internacional, will be held on Thursday, April 21 from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring musical performances and a gallery talk at 7 p.m. The Providence Campus gallery is located at 80 Washington St. and is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday and holidays.<\/p>\n


\nDuring gallery night, the Providence-based Asociacion Folklorica Boliviana will perform in their colorful attire. Photographers Porfirio and Angelica Luna, will share their experience of working in and leaving Pulacayo, a historic mining town and Nestor Taboada Teran, who is ranked as one of the 10 more significant novel writers of the 20th century will discuss his book, El Precio del Estano.<\/p>\n

Highlights of the exhibit include: “Vuelve Sebastiana” a film by Jorge Ruiz, music by contemporary composers Alberto Villalpando, Luis Moya, Miguel Ulises Jimenez, Jose Antonio Navarro, interpreted by the Trio Apolo, books by Adolfo Caceres, Edmundo Paz Soldan, photos by Jaime Rojas Zambrana, Fernando Soria. The exhibit also features children’s literature by Velia Calvimontes and other women writers, textiles by the Jalka and 83-year-old Fabio Guilen Garcia; “Gamboa I” a fine guitar from the “Colleccion Plata” designed by Rene Gamboa, and a collection of oil, watercolors and pastels by Remy Daza, Zenon Sansuste, Freddy Escobar, and Inti Roman, and sculptures by Giancarla Mu\u00c3oz- Pandoja and Agapito Cespedes and Alberto Prada.<\/p>\n


\nFounded in 2002 in Cochabamba by Bolivian-born Corvera-Baker, Galeria Internacional collaborates and coordinates with galleries, educational and cultural centers internationally to promote cultural exchange and increase understanding among various cultures. Exhibits in the U.S. are presented in collaboration with Centro Cultural Andino, Inc. of Providence. <\/p>\n
