\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — March 21, 2005 — Gardeners interested in getting their gardens off to the right start this spring should plan to attend a day-long gardening seminar April 9 entitled \u201cMaking Your Garden Work for You.\u201d Sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardeners Association and the Cooperative Extension Education Center, the workshop will focus on tackling common garden problems, planning a new garden, and modifying garden chores as you get older. <\/p>\n


\nThe seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lower level of the Chafee Social Science Center on 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Kingston Campus. The seminar fee is $45 for Master Gardeners and $50 for the general public. <\/p>\n


\n\u201cEarly April is the perfect time to gather new ideas on how to start a new garden or improve an existing one,\u201d said Rosanne Sherry, 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardener coordinator and organizer of the workshop. \u201cTime is precious to everyone, and using your time wisely in the garden makes a big difference in the amount of enjoyment you get from it. Every session in our workshop will give you many ideas and time savers you can take home and use right away.\u201d<\/p>\n


\nSherry is the event\u2019s first speaker, as she discusses \u201cDodging the Disasters,\u201d an illustrated walk through common landscaping problems. <\/p>\n


\nOther talks include:<\/p>\n


\n– \u201cBe Site Savvy: Landscape Design 101,\u201d how to conduct a site analysis to help create a comprehensive garden design, by garden designer Greta Cohen.<\/p>\n


\n– \u201cExciting, New and Unusual Perennials,\u201d by horticulturalist Karen Olson of Sunny Border Nurseries. This workshop will focus on freshening up your garden by adding something new.<\/p>\n


\n– \u201cRight Plant\/ Right Place,\u201d by 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardener Terri Melvin. She will explain exactly what plant tags mean when they say \u201cneeds full sun\u201d or \u201cavoid wet conditions.\u201d <\/p>\n


\n– \u201cThe Empowered Gardener,\u201d by Kris Koch, a promoter of horticulture in higher education, who will discuss how to use time management so you don\u2019t feel overwhelmed by gardening tasks. <\/p>\n


\n– \u201cTried and True and Easy to Enjoy, too!\u201d by Irene Beauregard, 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardner, on redesigning your gardens to enjoy them more while you get older. <\/p>\n
