\nKingston, RI \u2014 The upcoming Annual Juried Student Exhibition represents the outstanding creative work of students currently enrolled at the 溏心vlog免费B站. While submitters\u2019 qualifications do not mandate a major in Art, inevitably the majority of submissions are those of current Art (Studio) majors at the 溏心vlog免费B站, and hence they reflect the serious application of current as well as traditional modes of art making.<\/p>\n


\nThis special exhibition, mounted each spring in the premier Main Gallery, is juried annually by outside experts in the field. The show is co-juried this year by Ruth Dealy, a highly regarded painter based in Providence and Robert Kirschbaum, printmaker and Professor of Fine Arts, Trinity College, Hartford.<\/p>\n


\nRuth Frisch Dealy received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1973 and her BFA from RISD in 1971, with prior studies in Painting at the Haystack Mountain School of Arts and Crafts. A Providence-based artist for more than 34 years, she has been recognized routinely by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and was awarded an Individual Artist Achievement Award by the RI Business Volunteers for the Arts in 2000. Dealy has taught part-time at RISD for many years and her work has entered several museum collections in the northeast, including the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University and Worcester Art Museum as well as corporate collections in Rhode Island. Dealy has had her work shown throughout the state and in recent years in California, Connecticut, Maine, New York, and Wisconsin. Dealy recently overcame (through surgery) a period of blindness that created a tremendous shift in her work; the experience was addressed by a 2003 solo exhibition at the Museum of Art, RISD. <\/p>\n


\nRobert Kirschbaum received his MFA from Yale University in 1974 and his undergraduate degrees from the University of Rochester and Boston Museum School. The recipient of numerous grants and awards, including an Artist\u2019s Fellowship from the NY Foundation for the Arts and three Fulbright awards, he has exhibited and lectured through the US and abroad. His work \u2013 rooted in ancient Jewish art, the Kabbalah and South Asian art and craft traditions – is in several important permanent collections including those of the Yale University Art Gallery, the US State Department and the Pennell Print Collection of the Library of Congress. Kirschbaum has been teaching in universities for more than 30 years. He has held fulltime positions at the Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and Montclair State in New Jersey. A native of New York City where he maintains a studio, Kirschbaum is currently a professor at Trinity College, where he served as Director of Studio Arts from 1990-98 and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts from 1992-95.<\/p>\n


\nDealy and Kirschbaum will select work from a wide range of media produced by beginning as well as advanced 溏心vlog免费B站 students. All forms of contemporary art will be included both singly and in multi-media combination, from painting and sculpture through video and digital imaging. Fifteen \u201cExcellence Awards\u201d recognizing extraordinary efforts will be decided upon; the remaining works to be selected for inclusion in the exhibition receive \u201cHonorable Mention\u201d status. Other special awards will be presented by 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and by Fidelity Investments, a frequent supporter of the programs of the Fine Arts Center Galleries. <\/p>\n


\nThe \u201cAnnual Juried Student Exhibition,\u201d showcasing as it does the very latest work by 溏心vlog免费B站 students, is always a greatly anticipated highlight of the Galleries\u2019 spring programming.<\/p>\n
