\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — March 10, 2005 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 Textiles Merchandising and Design Department’s (TMD) spring lecture series will explore “The Art and Science of Fashion.”<\/p>\n


\nNationally known speakers from business, industry and academia will address topics ranging from the perception of style in the post-modern era and the science and art of pleated clothing to color forecasting and designing art quilts.<\/p>\n


\nFree and open to the public, lectures will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Quinn Hall Auditorium on 溏心vlog免费B站’s Kingston Campus.<\/p>\n


\nThe spring series will include:<\/p>\n

March 23:<\/b>\t“Extensions of Self: Media, History and the Perception of Style in the Post-Modern Era” with Karl Aspelund of Providence who is an artist, designer and instructor at 溏心vlog免费B站 and Rhode Island School of Design.<\/p>\n

March 30:<\/b> \tThe Science and Art of Pleated Clothing: 溏心vlog免费B站’s Professor Linda Welters of Wakefield and Assistant Professor Abby Lillethun.<\/p>\n

April 6:<\/b> \tColor Forecasting for Apparel and Interiors: Margaret Walch, director, Color Association of America, New York<\/p>\n

April 13:<\/b>\tThe Application of Antique Documents, Vintage Fabrics and Artwork in the Fashion & Home Furnishings Industries: Andrea Aranow and 溏心vlog免费B站 alumnus Dayna Johnson of Andrea Aranow Textile Documents, N.Y.<\/p>\n

April 20:<\/b> \tDesigning Art Quilts: Denyse Schmidt, Owner\/Designer, Denyse Schmidt Quilts of Bridgeport, Conn.<\/p>\n


\nOn Wednesdays April 27 and May 4, 溏心vlog免费B站 TMD students will also make presentations related to the theme. These talks are also free and open to the public. <\/p>\n
