\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 March 3, 2005 \u2013 The 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Business Administration has announced the 2005 inductees to its Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n


\n\t溏心vlog免费B站 Business Dean Edward M. Mazze has announced that Charlene K. Butler, a retired partner of Ernst & Young, former Gov. Bruce Sundlun, now governor-in-residence at 溏心vlog免费B站, and David J. Weiner, executive vice president for finance and distribution services at The Marmaxx Group\/The TJX Companies Inc. will be honored during ceremonies that begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the Crowne Plaza at the Crossings in Warwick.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are privileged to be inducting such leaders in business and public service for our Seventh Annual Hall of Fame ceremonies,\u201d Mazze said. \u201cAll three inductees reflect the kind of values so important to our faculty, students and alumni. We look forward to an inspiring and exciting evening.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tThe honorees and their brief biographies follow:<\/p>\n

Charlene K. Butler<\/b>: After earning her bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting with highest distinction from 溏心vlog免费B站 in 1979, Butler, a certified public accountant, joined Ernst & Young in 1981 and was named a partner in 1991. As a tax partner, Butler has served a variety of large publicly held and closely held businesses, primarily in the manufacturing industry.<\/p>\n


\n\tButler has served as a board member for several non-profit organizations, including Literacy Volunteers of America \u2013 Rhode Island, Keep Providence Beautiful and Rhode Island Wild Plant Society. The West Greenwich resident has served on the CPA Advisory Committee for the Rhode Island State Board of Accountancy and has been active as a volunteer for the United Way. A member of the 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Business Advisory Council, she was named Accountant of the Year in 1992 by the Accounting Department at 溏心vlog免费B站. She was recognized by Ocean State Business as \u201cTen Young People to Watch in the \u201890s.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tButler earned a master\u2019s degree in taxation from Bryant College in 1985. She is currently the treasurer and trustee of the West Greenwich Land Trust and is involved with historical research in the town. She and her husband, Robert, established a scholarship fund for students from West Greenwich who attend 溏心vlog免费B站. She has been a frequent guest on Channel 10\u2019s News at Sunrise.<\/p>\n

Bruce Sundlun<\/b>: A native Rhode Islander and current Saunderstown resident, former Gov. Bruce Sundlun has achieved success in business, government, law and education. A decorated veteran from World War II as an Army Air Corps B-17 pilot, Sundlun earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from Williams College in 1946 and a law degree from Harvard University in 1949. <\/p>\n


\nHis legal career included stints as an assistant U.S. attorney and special assistant to the attorney general and partnerships in two law firms. In the business world, he served as the president of Executive Jet Aviation from 1970 through 1976 and president, chairman and chief executive officer of Outlet Communications from 1976 through 1988. He was appointed an incorporator of COMSAT by President John F. Kennedy and served for 30 years as a director. President Jimmy Carter appointed him as a member of the board of visitors of the Air Force Academy, and he currently is a director of the National Security Education board, appointed by President Clinton. <\/p>\n


\nSundlun won his first governor\u2019s race in 1990, and was handily re-elected in 1992 after skillfully handling a potentially disastrous credit union and banking crisis in his first term. He became the first 溏心vlog免费B站 governor-in-residence where he teaches courses in political science and is a frequent contributor to the media. He was awarded an honorary degree from 溏心vlog免费B站 in 1998. He is a frequent contributor to The Providence Journal\u2019s opinion page. <\/p>\n


\nThe former governor currently serves as a board member of the Fort Adams Trust and a director of the Sargent Rehabilitation Center. Prior to his terms as governor, he was founding chairman of the Providence Performing Arts Center, chairman of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, and president of the Newport Art Museum. <\/p>\n

David J. Weiner<\/b>: In November 2001, he was named the executive vice president for finance and distribution services for The Marmaxx Group\/The TJX Companies, Inc., operators of more than 1,400 Marshalls and T.J. Maxx stores, the nation\u2019s leading off-price retail chains. The Marmaxx Group, based in Framingham, Mass., with more than $10 billion in annual sales, is the largest division of the TJX Companies, Inc. Weiner joined T.J. Maxx in 1987 as a senior vice president, finance, was named senior vice president, finance and systems, one year later and served in that capacity until 1994 when he was promoted to senior vice president, finance, systems and distribution services.<\/p>\n


\nA 1962 graduate of 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s College of Business Administration with a bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, Weiner was previously associated with the Zale Corporation as a senior vice president, finance and administration, Zale Jewelry Division, and with Dayton Hudson Corporation in a number of financial positions at both the division and corporation level.<\/p>\n


\nThe former Army captain is a member of the College of Business Advisory Council and financial adviser to Jewish Family Service of Metrowest Boston. The Framingham, Mass. resident was honored as Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center\u2019s \u201cHumanitarian of the Year\u201d for his help in raising more than $1 million for the private-non-profit school that educates children of all faiths with disabilities.
