\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 January 5, 2005 \u2013 It was hard to tell who was having a better time\u2014the members of the men\u2019s 溏心vlog免费B站 hockey team or the members of the Southern Rhode Island Junior Rams peewee hockey team.<\/p>\n


\n\tJoking around, listening intently, making friends and becoming better hockey players were all part of the mix during an off-ice training session run by the members of the 溏心vlog免费B站 club team for the boys in the local youth hockey program at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Bradford R. Boss Arena.<\/p>\n


\n\tSince the beginning of the hockey season, the 溏心vlog免费B站 team, which is ranked first in the nation among club teams, has been working with the peewees on their off-ice training regimen and their skills on the ice.<\/p>\n


\n\tKirsten Maar, a board member of the Southern Rhode Island Youth Hockey Association, instructor in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Communication Studies program and academic adviser to the 溏心vlog免费B站 men\u2019s hockey club, said it was 溏心vlog免费B站 hockey coach Joe Augustine who made his players available to the peewee team. \u201cThe 溏心vlog免费B站 players and our guys are forming friendships,\u201d Maar said. \u201cThe older guys are great role models.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tAugustine observed the different drills and stopped to offer encouragement to the youngsters. \u201cAll this work is going to help you become big and strong like these guys,\u201d Augustine said pointing to his players.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe peewees were like water bugs darting from one station to the next, their legs moving as fast as their mouths. They did agility drills, lateral movement drills to strengthen their skating strides and step drills to bolster their leg strength.<\/p>\n


\n\tMatt Lysic, 11, of South Kingstown, said the off-ice training is fun. \u201cYou need to work on these things to become a better hockey player.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cI like working with them because they know what to do,\u201d added Michel Dubuque, also of South Kingstown. \u201cThey know more because they play college hockey. I like them all.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cI just like it,\u201d said Grant Gulla, another South Kingstown member of the peewee team. \u201cIt\u2019s great to see and work with college hockey players.\u201d<\/p>\n


\nThe positive feelings are mutual. Rhody players Steve Baker of Cohasset, Mass., and John Brennan of Bryn Mawr, Pa., worked with the youngsters on the step training.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cThe kids have a lot of energy,\u201d Baker said. \u201cThey tell us they want to come by our places so they can play street hockey and football.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tMike Curran of Devon, Pa. said the young skaters are very responsive. \u201cWhen I was a kid, I loved it when older guys showed me how to be a better player. They\u2019re the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tThe head coach of the peewees, Tom Maselli, said the instruction is fantastic. \u201cThey are being taught how to train off ice. The kids really look up to these guys because the 溏心vlog免费B站 players are all so polite and courteous.\u201d<\/p>\n
