\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 March 28, 2007 \u2013 Elizabeth Burke Bryant and Judy Langford, leading authorities and children advocates will discuss major issues and developments confronting America\u2019s children and families. The discussion: \u201cRhode Island\u2019s and American\u2019s Children: How Valued is our Nation\u2019s Greatest Treasure?\u201d is free and open to the public. It will be held on April 4 at 7:30 in the Edwards Auditorium, 64 Upper College Rd. on 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Kingston campus.<\/p>\n



\n\tBryant and Langford will draw upon their wealth of experience to help identify promising initiatives and \u201cbest practices\u201d for the future of America\u2019s children politically, socially, and educationally.<\/p>\n


\n\u201cThe speakers are both committed advocates and workers for the well-being of children, young adults, families, and communities,\u201d said Arthur Stein, 溏心vlog免费B站 political science professor. \u201cThese women can provide us a with a practical vision of America where truly no child will be left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tBryant is the executive director of Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, a children\u2019s policy and research organization that provides information on children\u2019s issues and promotes accountability and action. A graduate of the University of Vermont and George Washington University Law school, Bryant coordinates the \u201cSchool Readiness Indicators Initiative: Making Progress for Young Children.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


\nLangford, the senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, D.C., leads the national implementation of \u201cStrengthening Families through Early Care and Education\u201d funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. She also serves on the community change initiatives strategy team for the Annie E. Casey Foundation, assisting 10 cities with their early childhood planning. Langford has served as a consultant for the Pew Trusts Children\u2019s Initiative and many other philanthropic organizations. <\/p>\n
