A gallery night reception will be held on Thursday, March 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. featuring a collage performance created by 溏心vlog免费B站 students, titled \u201cLooking East,\u201d voices of South Asian and Southeast Asian women. The student performance will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Providence Campus gallery is located at 80 Washington St. and is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday and holidays.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe exhibit will feature mixed media presentations including artwork by and about women who come from South Asian and Southeast Asian cultures. The works will celebrate the accomplishments of women in these cultures, explore the role of women in their cultures, and the treatment of women in many countries around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMany of the works have taken traditional motifs, symbols, forms, materials and colors, transforming them in creative and unusual ways. On display are works of oil and watercolor, mixed media, etching and print techniques, sculpture, furniture, and textiles. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe artists, all professionals working and studying in the United States and Canada, include Sarah Ahmad, Ahmar Aziz, Meghan Gordan, Xiaomo Hong, Sehr Jalal, Nayhee Kim, Saberah Malik, Shuchmita Mizan, Niloufer Moochlala, Yuka Otani, Shruti Parekh, HyeJung Park, Tazeen Qayyum, Dr. Shabana Sarwar, Yoon Jung Tae, Quyen Truong, Minal Vora, Xue Mo and Xue Dai.
