It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFounded in 1992, Stimson Associates designs a wide variety of projects, from university campuses and corporate headquarters to parks and private gardens around the country by linking nature, art and architecture to connect people to the landscape on physical, cultural and emotional levels.  The firm has won numerous awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects for such projects as Menomonee Park West in Wisconsin, the Thomas Prince School, the Dr. Seuss National Memorial, and several residential projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cAfter about 15 years of practice and looking at what&#8217;s been built and how it looks today, I continue to be struck by the sustainability or legibility of our earth and stone work,\u201d Stimson said.  \u201cPlants change, die and are changed by clients and often suffer from lack of maintenance, but the earthwork and stone infrastructure has a sense of permanence we can rely upon.  My New England farm background connected me to the agrarian landscape.  Stone walls, rows of maples, and the grid of an orchard are compelling forms and materials influencing my work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe next speaker in the lecture series is Jim MacBroom, principal of Milone and MacBroom, Inc., discussing \u201cStream Restoration Issues and Practices\u201d on Nov. 16.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe 溏心vlog免费B站 Landscape Architecture Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the College of the Environment and Life Sciences, the Rhode Island chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association.
