During this time, the flounder increases its weight by 5,000 times and metamorphoses from the larval to the juvenile form. The main focus will be on the role the flounder\u2019s hormones play in its development and physiological adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSpecker received her bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology from Miami University and her master\u2019s degree in zoology and Ph. D. in fisheries and wildlife from Oregon State University. She is a fish endocrinologist specializing in the metamorphosis of flounder, the reproductive biology of commercially important marine fishes, the endocrine regulation of the gut and gills during development and adaptation, and stress and anesthetics in marine fishes.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Inaugural Lectures are presented by newly promoted oceanography professors at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Graduate School of Oceanography and are aimed at a non-specialized but scientifically informed audience.
