Called Abbondanza!, the exhibit will feature photographs, tools, musical instruments, and artifacts such as immigration documents, passports and official papers.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFree and open to the public, the exhibit runs Oct. 2-31. A Gallery Night reception will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. A special event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with NBC 10\u2019s Frank Coletta as MC and Opera Providence, followed by a special Waterfire. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe exhibit will have vignettes to illustrate and honor the rich Italian heritage and traditions in family, work, and community life and religious celebrations from each of the Italian communities in Rhode Island &#8212; from Woonsocket to Bristol to Westerly and of course Federal Hill, the North End, Knightsville and &#8220;The Lake.&#8221; The exhibit also features painting, sculpture and photographs by noted local Italian artists including Salvatore Mancini, Pricilla Cane, Angelo Rosatti, and Dominick Marcigliano.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/bakery1920.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" align=\"right\"\/>The display focuses on everything from wine making, gardening and preserving, to occupations such as barbers, bakers, butchers, carpenters, farmers and stone masons, musicians, and more to show the many contributions made by Italians in Rhode Island. There is a video of interviews with Italian Americans from all parts of the state.
