All events are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe legendary rapper will speak about the political power of hip-hop in Edwards Auditorium on 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s main campus in Kingston.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nBorn Carlton Douglas Ridenhour on Long Island, N.Y., Chuck D delivers powerful messages about race, rage, reality, and inequality that reached all segments of the population. As the lyricist and main vocalist of Public Enemy, he was the focal point of two seminal and controversial rap albums, Fear of a Black Planet and It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold us Back. The rapper is also an actor, author, producer, and radio personality. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHe hosted and narrated the PBS documentary, Get Up, Stand Up, which chronicled the vital role that popular music has played in the ongoing struggle for social justice. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nVisit www.uri.edu\/hc for the colloquium schedule and directions.
